Directions
From New York City, New Jersey, and Points East
Take Route 80 West through the Delaware Water Gap into Pennsylvania. After paying the toll, take exit 309 (Marshall’s Creek) and merge onto Route 209 North. Follow 209 North until you reach the second stop light- approximately 1 mile. Make a right turn onto Buttermilk Falls Road (Luigi’s Pizzeria on the left) and follow to the top of the hill. At the stop sign, turn left onto River Road. Follow River Road down the hill into the village of Shawnee, Passing the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort on your right. Make a left turn onto Hollow Road, directly across from the Shawnee Playhouse. Drive approximately ¼ mile on Hollow Road and make a right turn onto Shawnee Church Road (next to the large yellow house) immediately bear left onto Mosier’s Knob Road and follow approximately 2 ½ miles up and over the mountain. Don’t get discouraged – you’re not lost – the view is breathtaking! Right before the paved road turns into dirt, turn left onto Michael’s Road. As you come up the hill, Black Bear Cottage is the second house on the left, next to two barns. It has brown wood siding
From Philadelphia and points South
Take Route 276 (from the north side) or Route 476 (From the south side) to the Pennsylvania Turnpike – Northeast Extension (Route 476 North). Follow signs for Allentown. At Allentown, follow Route 22 East to Route 33 North about 15 miles. Stay on Route 33 North towards Stroudsburg about 25 miles. Route 209 will merge with Interstate 80. follow Route 80 East to Exit 309 (Marshall’s Creek). Take Route 209 North for about 1 mile and make a right at the second light onto Buttermilk Falls Road (Luigi’s Pizzeria on the left). Follow directions above.
From points West
Take Route 80 East to Exit 309 (Marshall’s Creek) and follow as above
From points North
Take Route 209 South from Milford area to Marshall’s Creek (approximately 25 miles). Just past Foxmoor Village Shopping Complex, follow signs for Shawnee Mountain Ski Area and bear left onto Hollow Road. Follow Hollow for about 3 mile, passing Shawnee Mountain. Shortly after passing the Shawnee Fire Hall on your left, make a let turn onto Shawnee Church Road and then Immediately bear left onto Mosier’s Knob Road and follow approximately 2 ½ miles up and over the mountain. Don’t get discouraged – you’re not lost – the view is breathtaking! Right before the paved road turns into dirt, turn left onto Michael’s Road.
